Marianne Amsden, MS, LCPC
Marianne Amsden is a counselor at Little Bear Counseling. Although she mostly grew up in the Gallatin valley, she has lived all over the place, including Turkey as a young child. She and her husband chose to return to Bozeman to raise their own family and enjoy living in such close proximity to the natural world. Before graduate school Marianne focused on starting an advocacy-based non-profit organization, volunteering on three county government boards, and raising and homeschooling her four children.
Marianne completed her graduate work at Montana State University, earning a degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2017. She is passionate about facilitating well-being for individuals and couples through creative, experiential, body-centered methods. Marianne specializes in Somatic Experiencing but she also works from Gestalt theory, which is a holistic, integrative perspective that considers mind, body, spirit, and environment.
Marianne greatly values honesty and kindness. When she is not working as a counselor or full time mom, she enjoys playing! Whether outdoors, in the theater, singing, painting, or playing music she makes time for fun.
