Our Policies

Below are a few of our important office policies to note:

Payment Policy

For each session, we collect the full amount UNLESS the client knows their co-pay (we provide directions on how to find that out). It is the patient's responsibility to know what their co-pay is with insurance. Payment is due at the time of service, every session.

Cancellation Policy

Please be aware of our cancellation policy. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made less than 24-hours in advance are subject to the full session rate because we cannot bill insurance for sessions that are missed. In addition, we have a rotating cancellation list for people who have been unable to find available appointment times and we need time to notify them of upcoming availability.

Late Policy

Should you arrive late for your appointment, we are generally unable to make up for the lost time and are not permitted to give discounts. 


Recording Policy

Due to the complex nature of couples work, and the certification standards of Emotionally Focused Therapy, we record our sessions. This is a requirement for EFT therapists. We DO NOT store these sessions online, they are kept in a locked drawer, and they are deleted as soon as the SD card is full. The main reason we watch our "tape" is to improve the service we provide and to critique ourselves--not you. 

Emotional Support Animal Policy

Little Bear Counseling will no longer provide ESA letters to clients. We support the companionship and emotional relief an animal can provide. However, due to matters of counselor liability and counselor inability to guarantee your ESA's behavioral risk and/or safety with other humans and pets, we will not provide such letters.
