Maria Costa, MA, LMFT
Whether working with couples or individuals, Maria has found that the EFT model has a wonderful way of distilling complex emotional experience into something not only understandable, but predictable.
Emotional reactions, no matter how big or small, follow predictable patterns and relationships that may look like an absolute mess to her clients, make sense when viewed through the Attachment lens. In her free time, Maria works with her horses, keeping them happy. She spends time in her art studio, her painting continues with skyscapes of light and atmosphere; the occasional portrait as well. She likes to look out her window and not always see a blue sky.
Maria's Training & Approach
Maria draws deeply from the Emotionally Focused Therapy model to guide couples and individuals in understanding their emotional experiences. She believes that emotions—no matter how big or messy they seem—follow predictable patterns rooted in attachment needs. What may feel overwhelming or confusing to her clients becomes understandable and workable when viewed through this lens. Maria’s work offers clients clarity, compassion, and the hope of real change.
