Please be aware that insurance ONLY covers counseling that meets what insurance panels deem to meet medical necessity. While many insurance companies claim to cover relational/family counseling, they do so ONLY if the "identified patient" who's insurance is being billed has a medical condition the insurance company recognizes as legitimate AND decides to cover (yes, some diagnosis deemed legitimate by medical and mental health professionals is NOT deemed legitimate by insurance companies). Additionally, relational/family counseling MUST be proven to be an evidence-based treatment for this condition. Only then will insurance deem session coverage appropriate.
This means the majority​ of couples seeking counseling for communication, connection and intimacy issues do not meet insurances' criteria for medical necessity and we will not be able to bill insurance or provide the diagnostic codes necessary for individual's to receive reimbursement from their insurance.

BUT.....there is a silver-lining in all of this. Not billing insurance means no insurance company can randomly request session notes, dictate how many sessions you can receive or clawback previously paid-out reimbursements (which leave you and your therapist with surprising and harmful financial consequences).
 

• All counseling fees are due at the time of service.

• Late cancellations (less than 24-hours) and no-show fees will be subject to the full session cost as we are not able to fill those appointment spots with very short notice.

• Insurance will not cover costs for appointments that were cancelled.

• $200 Counseling Session with Fully Licensed Therapist (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT)

• $180 Counseling Session with Counseling Graduate & Provisionally Licensed Candidate (PCLC, SWLC)

• $160 Counseling Session with Graduate Student with Advanced EFT Training (Sliding Scale Available)*

• First four sessions free with an intern

• We accept cash, check or card.

• Clients have the option of paying their bill through their online portal or having our administrative staff charge their card within 7 business days following their appointment.

• If you plan to use insurance, please verify your benefits with your insurance carrier to ensure services will be covered. Little Bear Counseling does not verify client coverage with insurance companies. 

• Little Bear Counseling will submit to our in-network insurance carriers on your behalf but cannot verify benefits or eligibility.
